How Cowa works
Create a room, invite friends with a link and watch together — perfectly in sync. Two ways, depending on what you want to watch.
YouTube or MP4 — no extension

Create a room
Click “New room” in the dashboard.

Invite friends
“Copy invite link” and share it. Everyone opens it and is in the same room.

Load a video
Paste a YouTube or MP4 link. Play/pause/seek apply to everyone.
Netflix, Disney+, Prime & Co. — with the extension
Streaming services run in their own tab. The Cowa extension keeps playback in sync.

Install the Cowa extension
From the Chrome Web Store (link coming after approval). Everyone watching needs it.

Open the room & start the stream
Keep the Cowa room open in one tab, start the streaming service (e.g. Netflix) in a second tab.

Turn on “Sync this tab”
Click the Cowa extension icon and enable “Sync this tab” — for every participant.

Watch together
Play, pause and seek sync automatically. If someone buffers, everyone waits briefly.
Tips
- Everyone needs their own account on the streaming service — Cowa transfers no video, it only syncs.
- Wait for the green “Live” status in the room before you start.
- Something not working? Update the extension at chrome://extensions and reload the tabs.
